I need help with the name of a 1950 sci-fi space? All I can remember is a scene near the end of the film, where human astronauts (perhaps in their suits) were trying to escape from an alien planet. The scene I remember is that there were at least two astronauts, one male one female (possibly a third, who was male) attempting to escape an alien building that was shaped like a cone and soft ramp was a spiral along the outside of it. No action, just a smooth inclined spiral. The strange part is that there is a dark, viscous material that flows through foreign structures and filtered through small circular portals would kill the astronauts if the contact with him. The mud reminded me of the original movie The Blob, when consumed in the dining room. The last time I saw this movie in the 70s and I know that the scene is as I described. If you could help me on this, Id appreciate it. Thank you.
